BirdScout identifying an American Robin live, showing the spectrogram and the species heard so far
Hear It Work

Press play. Watch it listen.

Three real field recordings, no names attached. Press one and watch the waveform respond, then see what BirdScout's engine calls it.

Field recordings by Jonathon Jongsma via Xeno-canto. Photos by Mdf, John Stockla, and The Cosmonaut via Wikimedia Commons. Licensed CC BY-SA; clips trimmed and photos cropped from the originals.

A field companion, not just an identifier.

BirdScout turns every walk into a birding trip, from the first note you hear to the life list you build over years.

Hear It, Know It

Hit record and watch names appear as birds sing. When a species is recognized, its photo fades in beside the result, and a running strip tallies every bird heard so far in the take.

Bring Any Recording

Share a Voice Memo, import a file, or even use a video clip from your camera roll. BirdScout analyzes the whole recording and finds every bird in it, not just the loudest one.

Every Bird in the Chorus

A dawn chorus is never just one bird. BirdScout lays out every species it hears on a timeline, so you can see who called when. Tap any entry to replay that exact moment.

Your Life List

Every sighting is logged automatically into a personal collection with counts, first-seen dates, and monthly stats. New species trigger a full confetti celebration, because lifers deserve one.

A Map of Your Discoveries

Sightings are pinned where you heard them, building an interactive atlas of your birding journey. Revisit favorite spots and watch your map fill in, season after season.

Explore Your Region

A built-in field guide shows the species expected where you are, with rich profiles, reference photos, and a rotating Bird of the Day. Streaks and badges keep you coming back outside.

New in BirdScout.

Two more ways in: one for the days you are not birding, one for the birds that stay quiet.

Soundscapes

Sleep, work, or read to real birdsong. Pick a mix, set a sleep timer, and it keeps playing with the screen off. While it plays, BirdScout shows you which bird you are hearing, and tapping a name jumps to where it calls.

Beta

Photo ID

Not every bird sings. Photograph one, or pick a shot from your library, and BirdScout suggests the species so it can join your life list. It knows a limited set of birds for now, so it asks rather than asserts, and Sound ID still covers far more.

At a Glance facts

Secure by design.

Identification runs on your phone, and your recordings are backed up to encrypted cloud storage. We never sell your data and never use it for ads.
